Welcome to Veterans Against Myeloma (VAM), a growing* team of veterans battling Multiple Myeloma (MM). |
Our Target: Multiple Myeloma - a cancer of the plasma cells, a type of white blood cell in the bone marrow. Our Goal: Win the battle against Myeloma - Find a Cure. Our Plan: Join forces to support increased funding of Myeloma research and education. Our Weapons: Teamwork, dedication, increased knowledge and aggressive research. Why Vets? - Many MM patients are veterans. As servicemen and women, when we left the service we thought that facing early death was a thing of the past. But for those of us who have been diagnosed with myeloma, facing death is a part of our lives. What can we do about it? Against myeloma, our key weapons are knowledge and the best treatment based on the latest research. Our combined efforts to continue our service through the Veterans Against Myeloma cause can help research and help us win the battle by finding a cure.
